It's open, come in!
From that moment my rapid immersion in English started.
I created more and more files with words and phrases. I became
faster
at memorizing each new file. Of course, my time in an English-speaking country and my ability to read helped
me as well. But it was something new that did not fit into my experience of learning a
foreign language. I realized that I had accidentally found a solid foundation in the swamp, fulcrum, that would help me to
turn the world upside down.
Although I was a novice programmer, I immediately realized how
the understanding process takes place in my head. The brain turned out to be
extremely similar to a computer, only incomparably more powerful. The same
processes and laws acted in it. In order to understand a phrase spoken in any
language, the brain must first recognize it. Recognition occurs by comparing the
phrase that is heard with the original, which is stored on the hard drive of our
brain. If there is no such stored matrix, the brain has to process the message.
It takes much longer, that is why we need more time for processing unfamiliar
information. In this case we ask to speak more slowly.
My goal was to fill my head with as many voiced words and
phrases as possible. Since the problem with nouns was solved with the help of
thematic groups, I decided to add some verbs and adjectives related to these topics.
